This is Reese. Reese is my HERO. Reese has been a patient at Children's Hospital Of Georgia since before he was born, and he's paying it forward in a BIG way.
Reese was born 6 weeks early, with 11 birth defects. Sufficient to say, life has not been kind to Reese or his family. Numerous surgeries...countless hospital visits...that hasn't stopped them ONE BIT. And at 8 years old, Reese has endured more than most adults who have lived a full life.
Reese is one of the reasons we host the annual Children's Hospital Of Georgia Radiothon every December. It's simply the greatest part of my job...giving back.
And now Reese and his family want to give back, too. And YOU can help.
Reese has set up a lemonade and peanut stand near their home on Hwy 78 during Georgia Bulldogs home games. This past Saturday was their first time, and sold over 25 pounds of peanuts and 5 gallons of lemonade!
The next Resse stand will happen on Saturday, September 15th! Be sure you stop by if you're on your way to the GA game!
Reese's main goal is to help kids come home from the hospital, and plans to make his donation at our Radiothon in December. And I plan on him to be my co-host for a while, too!
Even if you can't swing by 1310 Lexington Road on Game Days this season, you can make a donation to the Children's Hospital of Georgia or on Reese's Friends Fundraising Page!
Check out Reese's Friends on Facebook... and check out the total raised so far (and football season has just started!)
On a separate note - I want to throw a HUGE shout out and acknowledgement to Reese's FAMILY. Unless you've been in their shoes, you have no idea how much they have to go through everyday. You guys are always in my thoughts.
