Does North Augusta Have A Coyote Problem?

So, I live in downtown North Augusta, in between Riverview Park and Hammond's Ferry.  I took this pic early last Thursday morning while walking the dogs, at the entrance of Hammond's Ferry - two hind legs of a fawn, nothing else.  I mean NOTHING else.

Now, I know there are a lot of deer in this area - we're developing more around the Greenway, and encroaching on their living space.  But in the 25+ years I've been in North Augusta, never seen this.

I shared this pic to a few groups on social media, and the general consensus is it's the result of a coyote attack. Numerous people have claimed to see more and more coyotes in not just North Augusta, but across the entire greater Aiken/Augusta area.  Some are even accusing either GA or SC DNR of introducing coyotes in the area to reduce the number of deer, although I've seen no proof of that.

Has anyone else seen them in the downtown North Augusta area?
